Description

3M™ 425 Aluminum Foil Tape is a 4.6 mil dead-soft aluminum foil tape with a pressure-sensitive acrylic adhesive. The foil construction is thermally conductive and heat reflective, with UL 723 (Class L, File R7311) and UL 764c certifications confirming its flame resistance and performance in demanding thermal environments. Each roll measures 2 inches wide by 5 yards long and is sold as a single roll.

Primary applications include HVAC duct sealing, insulation jacketing, moisture and air barrier installation, and thermal shielding in construction and manufacturing settings. The tape adheres reliably to metal, glass, and rigid plastics, and its UV-stable foil surface supports long-term performance in outdoor or exposed installations where other tapes degrade. The reflective surface also improves visibility in low-light work environments.

The acrylic adhesive activates under hand pressure with no heat required and conforms to irregular surfaces without cracking or splitting. Individual rolls ship via parcel carrier, making this an accessible option for low-volume or single-trade purchases.
