3M 425 Aluminum Foil Tape is a 4.6 mil dead-soft aluminum foil tape with a pressure-sensitive acrylic adhesive. It is thermally conductive, flame resistant, UV-resistant, and forms a reliable moisture and air barrier — making it one of the more versatile foil tapes available for demanding sealing and insulation work.
Primary applications include HVAC duct sealing, insulation facing repairs, building envelope sealing, and industrial MRO. The acrylic adhesive bonds to metal, glass, and rigid plastics, performing reliably through temperature cycling and outdoor exposure. It meets UL 723, Class L File R 7311, and UL 764c certifications commonly specified in commercial construction and mechanical systems work.
The tape measures 3/4 inch wide by 60 yards long and is sold as a single roll. The dead-soft aluminum backing conforms easily to irregular surfaces and edges without springback, allowing clean application in tight or contoured spaces. Ships via parcel carrier.
